Asbestos – We Have the Answers!

When it comes to asbestos, ACM Environmental’s group of accredited professionals provide a complete range of services that can be adapted to your needs, whether you’re responsible for large commercial, industrial or institutional buildings or an individual homeowner . Our services range from providing comprehensive hazardous material surveys and total project management to testing individual samples for asbestos before renovation and disposal.

While many people have heard the warnings about asbestos and its associated serious health risks, some may not realize how widespread the use of the material once was. Most commercial, industrial, and institutional buildings as well as homes constructed in Canada before 1990 will contain some amount of asbestos, and because it was often mixed with other building materials, its detection can be difficult. ACM Environmental’s experienced professionals have been highly trained to identify and sample these materials for laboratory testing.

Determining the presence of asbestos is a critical step before any renovation, alteration or demolition, since asbestos becomes especially dangerous when it is disturbed. This is why it’s essential that asbestos testing be done by certified professionals before any building or home renovations begin. In fact, WorkSafe BC requires testing for hazardous materials, specifically testing for asbestos, by all employers and owners in British Columbia prior to work being performed.

Our hazardous materials experts will inspect, assess and test your home or workplace for any contaminated building materials, and provide guidance and recommendations if asbestos is discovered. ACM Environmental offers a full range of services, including:

Asbestos is as much of a concern for an individual homeowner as it is for a well-funded public institution or private corporation. Whether you’re a first time home buyer planning a renovation, or a CEO overseeing the demolition of an industrial building, ACM Environmental’s experienced team of professionals is committed to providing all the required asbestos services for your specific needs, from initial investigations and feasibility studies to management programs and final reports
